Administrative Accounting Assistant

Cardinal Advisory Services (CAS), a Grenada based Chartered Accounting Firm is seeking a career-oriented individual to join their team as an “Administrative Accounting Assistant”.


Job Summary:

This position heavily evolves around the execution of various corporate, administrative, and accounting-related tasks that are necessary to support the effective and efficient operations of the Firm.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist individuals/clients visiting the office.

  • Manage incoming calls and appointments.

  • File PAYE returns and process PAYE payments via G-TAX.

  • File National Insurance Scheme (NIS) contributions.

  • File tax returns on behalf of clients.

  • Liaise with Inland Revenue to resolve tax-related matters as they arise.

  • Edit, format, and quality-check financial statements, and all documents circulated externally and internally.

  • Draft, review, and send professional correspondence and emails.

  • Prepare proposals, engagement documents, and supporting schedules.

  • Create, maintain, and organise electronic and physical filing systems.

  • Manage office stationery and office supplies.

  • Maintain petty cash system, including recording, reconciliation, and replenishment.

  • Prepare and process bank deposit.

  • Prepare, edit, and proofread reports, letters, memos, invoices, presentations, and other documents

  • Prepare client packages, including binding financial statements, and preparing envelopes for delivery.

  • Manage schedules and plan frameworks; prepare agendas and arrange meetings.

  • Perform human resources administrative functions, including:

    • Processing and recording sick leave

    • Assisting with the recruitment process

    • Assisting with onboarding of new staff and interns.


Minimum requirements - Qualification, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Qualification (Education):

  • An associate degree or similar level qualification in Accounting, Business, Office Administration, or related field.

  • ACCA FIA (Foundations in Accountancy) or CAT (Certified Accounting Technician) or higher would be an asset.

Knowledge:

  • Excellent knowledge of office procedures/general administration.

  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting and taxation principles.

  • Basic knowledge of filing or the administration of NIS contributions.

  • Basic knowledge of the operations of a Financial/Accounting/Auditing Firm.

Experience:

  • 2-5 years’ experience performing similar duties

  • Experience working as an administrator within an accounting or auditing firm will be an asset
